Wedding thank-you cards

The thank-you card is the last step of your wedding — and the most personal one. Below are ready-to-use texts for every situation: for gifts, out-of-town guests, the wedding party and guests who couldn't attend. Copy the wording, swap in the names, and send it in your invitation's design.

A great thank-you card includes: the guest's name, a specific thanks (for attending, a gift, or help), one personal line and the couple's signature. Add a link to your photo gallery if you like.

Digital thank-you cards in your invitation's design

In the Zovni.me editor, you can reuse the same design from your invitation to create a thank-you card: swap the text, add a photo from your wedding, and send guests a link via WhatsApp or email. Your guest list already knows who you've sent to and who's still on the list.

  1. 1. Open the invitation you used and duplicate the design.
  2. 2. Swap in one of the wording examples above and add a wedding photo.
  3. 3. Send the link to guests from your list — each guest gets a card addressed to them by name.

Frequently asked questions

When should you send wedding thank-you cards?

Ideally within two to four weeks after the wedding, and no later than three months. Digital thank-you cards can go out within days, while the memories are still fresh.

Does every guest need a thank-you card?

Yes — every guest, as well as anyone who sent a gift or well wishes without attending. If you used Zovni.me's guest list, you'll have an accurate record of who RSVP'd and who couldn't make it.

Should you mention the gift in the thank-you card?

If it was a specific item, mention it and say how you'll use it. For cash gifts, it's enough to thank the guest for their generosity without stating the amount.

Digital or printed thank-you cards?

Digital thank-you cards arrive quickly, can include photos and a link to your gallery, and cost nothing per guest. Printed cards remain a lovely touch for your closest family and friends. Many couples do both.
